Food planning sessions

Practical, conversation-led education focused on affordable meals in New Zealand. Not a medical or dietitian service.

What we cover together

Each session starts with your real routine—not an ideal spreadsheet. We look at who you cook for, how often you shop, and which stores are realistic for your location. From there we build flexible meal ideas, a prioritised shopping list, and simple prep habits.

Typical topics include reading NZ nutrition labels, choosing house brands wisely, reducing food waste, and planning lunches that survive a commute. You leave with written notes and links to recipes on this site that match your preferences.

Sessions are collaborative and paced to your kitchen confidence.

How a session flows

  1. Intro call (15 min, free): We confirm goals, dietary patterns, and whether in-person or online suits you.
  2. Main session (60 min): Deep dive into meals, budget, and barriers. Bring a recent grocery receipt if handy.
  3. Follow-up summary: Within 48 hours you receive a written plan and suggested next steps.
  4. Optional check-in (30 min): Two weeks later to adjust portions, seasonal swaps, or lunchbox ideas.

Who benefits most

Students managing flat budgets, parents juggling school lunches, and retirees adapting to smaller households all use our service. We also support people shifting toward more plant-based plates without overspending on specialty products.

We do not provide clinical diet therapy or personalised plans for diagnosed conditions—that is the role of regulated health practitioners. If your needs are clinical, we will gladly point you toward appropriate NZ services while keeping general food education separate.
